.: VISIT TO SYABAS(SYARIKAT BEKALAN AIR SELANGOR) :.

3RD MEI...

We had a visit to SYABAS located at Jalan Pantai Bharu in Kuala Lumpur.. There were 46 of us and 3 lecturers...

SYABAS was incorporated on 8th July 1996 under the Malaysian Companies Act, 1965 to undertake the privatisation of water supply services in the State of Selangor and the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya ('the Privatisation‘).There are many services provided such as billing, tender information, service, pipe laying works and standard drawings, and so on.

Here, we were introduced about GIS implementation such as Hydraulic Modeling, web-based GIS, how they monitor the level of water and what the next steps to be taken if they have report on water crisis from customer.

We also had a chance to visit the core center. SCADA system(not Sekadar di Pinggiran-sang by Francisca Peter), the important system to do monitoring from far. SCADA integrated with GIS to give its optimum functionality.They have CCTV and other equipment to detect flow of water or any changes that can cause disaster or having critical level of water...

The next turn, we got to PUSPEL (Pusat Perkhidmatan Pelanggan). Yes, customer service which the operation is 24 hours. It just a small room with many staffs are working.I can see, how the skillful the operators pick up the phone. They serve every single client politely, humble and friendly.

If we see the picture above, we could found, there is a mirror in front of operator. What I notice, every table has a mirror. I beg, the aim was to make sure the operator should smile first before taking any call. It is owing to when we smile during speaking, the caller can deeply feel and 'see' our cheer attitude..I guess so..

Oh..before I forget... I have something to announce....
At SYABAS, they also accept students who want to do practical for their Industrial Training.
You know what, they also pay us RM500 per month....
So, grab this oppurtinity yo..!

They also asked us or anyone to sent their resume..because there are many jobs offered here..They offer you good salary, good reward(such as pergi umrah), good condition..
and bla..bla..bla....

:. KHEMAH LATIHAN GIS :.

This is my group with Total Station

Huh..almost 2 weeks I don't update my blog...sorry friends.. Starting from 19th April 2010 to 8th Mei, I got Khemah Latihan GIS... It was included in my credits hour...

Oh.. forgot to mention, G.I.S is stands for Geographical Information System... So, for the first week, we done data collecting...where we had to go to fieldwork and applied traversing, leveling and tacheometry...at the end, every points on the Earth were going to have its' own X,Y and Z coordinate...
Who can guess where I took this picture..??haha

For the second week(till this Friday), we just stay at the GIS Laboratory and perform data analysis..For example, we need to develop database system, generate contour, plotting, digitizing and so on....Yosh!..the whole day, I need to mengadap laptop sampai mata dah juling..huhu~

Yeah...3rd week, we are going to have some visit to SYABAS(Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor) and Satellite Ground Receiving Station in Temerloh Pahang..we'll observe how far GIS be implementated there....oh..I don't have patience anymore to see how satellite monitor and swapt the whole Peninsular on screen..!!

.: FINALLY IT'S OVER :.

No more burn the midnight oil..memorize all the fact and formulas..getting imsonia..

Yeah..finally my final exam just over..

English for Advance Communication, Programming 2, Remote Sensing and Environmental Management, Spatial Statistics, and Database Management System.. These were the papers I already sit..

I gave my very best on every papers especially for my English because at that day, I got a meaningful and supportive advice from my beloved mother...So, I got full inspiration..

So, "bismillahi tawakkal tu alalloh"...

If He present me a flying pass colour result, I'm very greatful..
If not, it's not the end...Maybe I should double my efforts later on...
It's all about how hard we punch..
If we punch more, we get more..

Then, after last exam, I had KFC for my lunch.. and McD for dinner..
Oh,I'm getting fat..!haha...~

What could I hope now on, I could maintain my Dean's List achievements...and my Gred Pointer Average(GPA) also increase ..Insya-Allah..

So, for those who still have to sit for their final exam, I wish you best of luck..Remember, every second is vital..don't you ever sleep in examination hall..!

Jangan tipu2 ek..kejayaan dengan usaha sendiri itu lebih bermakna, manis dan terasa..
Hanya orang bodoh yang akan tersenyum lebar atas kejayaan yang bukan berasal dari dirinya..
